Respiratory Problems

Respiratory Problems are common, mostly caused by genetic reasons or bad lifestyle habits. Although, a few of these illnesses can be genetics too.

Flu/Common cold

Cold and flu are respiratory infections caused by viruses. Some symptoms like sore throat, headache, body ache, tiredness, and mild cough are common, and some specific to either of two. In common-cold, the patient can also have a runny or stuffy nose and sneezing. Whereas in the flu, one can additionally suffer from moderate to severe fever, nausea, vomiting, and dry, hacking cough.

Pleurisy

The main symptom of pleurisy is a piercing pain in the chest while breathing. It goes away when you hold the breath and worsens on sneezing or coughing. Some patients may also experience fever, chills, and loss of appetite, though these are not common symptoms.

Depending on the condition causing the disease, patients may suffer some additional difficulties like:

  • Pain on one side of the chest
  • pain in shoulders and back
  • Headaches
  • Joint pains
  • Muscular pains
  • Short breaths

Bronchitis

When people talk about bronchitis, they are generally referring to its acute form. But some patients also suffer from Chronic Bronchitis. Symptoms in both are mostly similar, but in Chronic cases, people may not experience some of the cold like signs of acute disease - fever, headache, body aches, chills, and severe cough.

Symptoms

Bronchitis starts with a dry, annoying cough that later starts producing mucus that might be clear, white, yellowish, or sometimes green.

There are more, a bit lesser common symptoms like sore throat, fatigue, short breath, chest discomfort, and heavy breathing.

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. It causes the lungs' air sacs to become inflamed and fill up with fluid or pus. That can make it hard for the oxygen you breathe in to get into your bloodstream. The symptoms of pneumonia range from mild to severe and include cough, fever, chills, and trouble in breathing..

Symptoms

  • Cough, which may produce yellow, or greenish, and sometimes even bloody mucus.
  • Fever, sweating and shaking chills
  • Short, rapid, and shallow breathing
  • Sharp chest pain that feels or stabbing and gets worse while breathing or coughing
  • Loss of appetite, physical weakness, and fatigue
  • Nausea and vomiting
